My dear Uncle George,

It is hard to believe that we were together just one week ago . I am very grateful I had the chance to tell you that I love you and share a warm embrace before you left this world as the sun rose the next morning. You have always believed in family and it was apparent throughout your life. You had a very tough exterior, but I always knew how caring, sensitive and sentimental you were inside. I remember how you teared up when we told you Maria was pregnant. I remember how you kissed my newborn daughter on her forehead. My favorite memory/picture is one of you sitting at the kitchen table and coloring with my then one and a half year old daughter. I think you were 83 years old at the time! We had some deep meaningful discussions when we sat alone and waited and I will never forget your wisdom. That is the Uncle George I will remember. Through it all, I always knew you loved and cared for me. I pray that you know how I feel about you. As sad as I am in having to bid you and Aunt Betty farewell at the same time, I think it is poetic that you will be entering into the afterlife hand in hand with her after 70 years of marriage,

Farewell to my favorite Aunt and Uncle. Until me meet again.

With Much Love,

Your Nephew Joe
