It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Vincenzo Lagonigro. He passed away on Wednesday, April 28th leaving to mourn many family and friends. He passed in peace at the age of 80 surrounded by family.
Loving husband of 51 years to Filomena and beloved father of Raffaele (Rosi), Maria (Giuseppe) Fazari, Joseph (Danielle), and Vincent (Corinne). Proud grandfather of Michael, Vincent, Chiara, Vincenzo, and Ava. Brother of Maria Siino, Giuseppe, Francesco, and predeceased by his sister Gina Pucci and his parents Raffaele and Maria. Survived by many nieces and nephews, close relatives, and friends.
Vincenzo emigrated from Poggiorsini, Italy in 1969. Proud of his Italian heritage and culture he was also proud to become an American citizen in 1970. Vincenzo lived in Whippany for 41 years. He was as a carpenter by trade dedicated to his craft and a talented wood worker who enjoyed creating and building. He was a strong family patriarch who loved his family and friends and was always there to support and lend a helping hand. Vincenzo instilled his family-oriented values in his children and was loyal to his family and everyone he loved. He had a passion for soccer and enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams; AC Milan and the Italian National Team. Vincenzo cherished and helped care for all of his children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. Vincenzo will be fondly remembered as a compassionate, humble, and generous human being.
Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Friday from 4-8pm. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic and capacity limitations, visitors are asked to pay their respects and then exit, in order for others to enter the building. Masks are required and all are to practice social distancing.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, assembling at the funeral home at 9am, followed by the funeral mass at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Whippany at 10am. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. The family appreciates everyone following all Covid-19 restrictions.
