Vincent Solano Obituary

Vincent Solano, 82, of Manahawkin, formerly of Florham Park, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Augusta, Italy, in 1942, Vincent made the brave journey to the United States in 1954 with his family, where he settled with his parents and sister in Orange, New Jersey. It was here that Vincent’s remarkable story in America began—a story marked by hard work, dedication, and a deep love for his family.

In 1964, Vincent was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served his adopted country with pride and honor until 1966. After completing his service, Vincent married the love of his life, Rosa, in January 1967. The couple began their married life in Newark, New Jersey, and in 1971, they moved to Livingston before eventually settling in Florham Park in 1983. They spent 26 wonderful years there, raising their family and building a life full of love and cherished memories. In 2005, Vincent and Rosa moved to Manahawkin, New Jersey, where they enjoyed their later years together.

For over 50 years, Vincent was the proud owner and chef of Solano’s Restaurant in Orange, New Jersey. His passion for cooking and his dedication to his craft made Solano’s a cherished establishment, where countless memories were made over delicious meals. Vincent’s warm presence in the kitchen was matched by his warmth with his customers, who became lifelong friends.

Vincent’s greatest joy in life was his family. He loved Rosa with all his heart and cherished the moments spent with their children, grandchildren, and extended family. Family gatherings were always filled with laughter, love, and the delicious food that Vincent so lovingly prepared. His legacy of love, generosity, and the importance of family will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Vincent Solano will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to live on in the lives of his family and friends, and in the countless memories shared at his table. May he rest in peace.

Beloved husband of 57 years to Rosa Solano (Siino).  Devoted father of Frank Solano, his wife Maria, Vincent Solano, Jr., and Joseph Solano.  Cherished grandfather of Ariana and Nikole Solano, Vincent, Lauren and Leah Solano.  Dear brother of Maria Gutauskas.  Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Vincent was pre-deceased by his parents Frank and Domenica Solano.
