Vincent Romano, Sr., 95, formerly of Belleville, NJ, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2021. He was the loving husband of the late Carmella (nee Falzarano) and on this day in 1949 they married. Today they are joined together to celebrate their 72nd wedding anniversary.
Vincent is survived by his sons Vincent Jr. and his wife Susan and Leonard and his wife Rosanne; grandfather to Vincent III, Leonard Jr., Christopher, the late Joseph, Matthew, Anthony and Nicholas; great-grandfather to Hailey, Zoey, Ryan and Zackary and dear brother to Victoria Jacangelo. He is also survived by his loving brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Emily, brother Dominic, sisters Sadie, Isabelle, Josephine, Marianne and Isabelle.
Vincent served in WWII as a Corporal in the 91st Field Artillery Battalion in Europe from 1944 to 1946. He worked as truck driver for Bayonne Barrel and Drum Company for over 30 years. He was a man of many talents including carpentry, cooking, photography, playing the harmonica and drawing. He enjoyed spending time with his family, dancing, smoking cigars, drinking wine and playing the lottery. He lived a full life.
Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Monday from 4-7pm. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, visitors are asked to pay their respects and then kindly exit in order for others to enter the building.
Funeral on Tuesday assembling at the funeral home at 10:15am followed by the funeral mass at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover at 11:15 am. Entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Please note, masks are to be worn and occupancy limitations and social distancing are in place at all facilities.
