Vincent E Altiere

Vincent E. Altiere, 76, of East Hanover, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

After growing up up in East Orange, NJ, he spent many happy years with his wife and family at home in East Hanover, NJ.  Vince served as Treasurer of the Newark Teachers Union, as well as a classroom teacher of History, and later, French.  

Vince was a model-train enthusiast and greatly enjoyed giving presentations on his craft. He was also a lover of classical music, books, and fine wines. 

Devoted father of Christina Altiere, her husband William Downing, Vincent L. Altiere and his wife Megan McCusker.  Proud grandfather of Vincent Luca Altiere.  Also survived by many cousins and friends.

Vincent was pre-deceased by his wife Mary Altiere of 32 years, and his parents Vincent and Matilda Altiere. 

Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Monday, February 24th from 10am-12pm, followed by a prayer service at the funeral home at 12pm.  Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in N. Arlington.
