Thomas J. DeLuca, Jr., 89, of Parsippany, formerly Newark, passed away peacefully at his home on February 22, 2025.
From a young age, he displayed an unwavering work ethic, which he carried with him throughout his life. At 18, he joined the U.S. Army, serving his country with honor. In 1959, he began his distinguished career as a fireman with the Newark Fire Department, where he worked tirelessly until his retirement in 1983. Alongside his fire-fighting career, Tom founded Eastern Solar LLC in 1961, a business he dedicated himself to and proudly retired from in 2014. Tom was a man who found joy in the simple things: spending time with his family, enjoying a good meal, and savoring the smooth draw of a fine cigar. His love of sports, especially football and baseball, and sitting outside on his deck enjoying the warm weather.
Devoted father of James DeLuca, Thomas DeLuca Ill and his wife Anne. Cherished grandfather of, Danielle, Thomas IV, Michael & Lisa, and Jaclyn and her husband William. Proud great-grandfather of Nicolette, Milania, Jenna and
Billy. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Thomas was pre-deceased by his parents Thomas and Marie, his sister Geraldine and his former wife Joan.
