Thomas Jemas Obituary

Beloved husband of 31 years to Jennifer Jemas. Devoted father of Alyssa and Cindy Jemas. Dear son of William and Rosemarie Jemas. Also survived by loving sister Nancy Jemas, brother William Jemas Jr., sister in-law Jane Milrod, nephews Andrew and Jake, and close friends and brothers at heart Thomas Richardson and Christopher Cannizzo.

Tom grew up in West Orange, NJ. His friends from his neighborhood remained his best friends who then became family. Growing up they devoted their days to playing many different sports.Tom went on to play baseball in high school and college.

Tom received his B.A. at Montclair State University and he began his career in Industrial Lubricant Sales. While working he obtained his Master of Business Administration from Seton Hall University. Throughout his successful and satisfying career, spanning 40+ years, he often told people he “never worked a day in his life”. Tom made friends and family of many of his customers. When Tom turned 30, he walked into a customer’s office and met Jenny, the love of his life. He wrote her a beautiful song as his proposal. They married in 1992, moved to East Hanover and had beautiful twin girls in 2003.

Tom was a skilled piano and guitar player, often entertaining friends and family. He had a gift for being able to sit down and learn any song by ear. Tom was also a devoted Bruce Springsteen fan, attending many of his concerts throughout the years. One of his true joys was working on countless projects around his home and he loved spending time at the beach and by his pool. He built and cared for his koi ponds and was devoted to his many beloved dogs. Tom was also known as a “fireworks director”, putting on elaborate firework displays at family parties.

Tom touched many lives with his love and was truly loyal to his family and friends. He will always be remembered and held close in everyone’s hearts for his encouraging demeanor, keen intellect, sense of humor, and warmth. He will always be loved and missed by many!
