Theresa Germinario (Raimondo) / A Life Devoted to Teaching, Family, and Love
Theresa Germinario (nee Raimondo) passed away surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy defined by devotion, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to children and family.
Born in Italy, Theresa came to the United States during World War II as a small child, beginning a life shaped by resilience, gratitude, and perseverance. These early experiences helped form the strength, empathy, and work ethic that would define her life and her calling.
With a natural gift for nurturing and teaching, Theresa dedicated her life to education. She proudly served as an educator with Newark Public Schools for 37 years, shaping generations of students through her patience, kindness, and belief in every child’s potential. After retiring in 1996, her love for teaching never faded. She continued to serve her community by teaching at a local preschool for an additional nine years, because for Theresa, teaching was never just a career, it was who she was.
Theresa married the love of her life, Nicola Germinario, on November 11, 1964. Together they built a life rooted in family, hard work, and enduring love. Nicola preceded her in death on January 10, 2016, and she carried his memory in her heart always.
Above all else, Theresa loved children. Her greatest joy was her grandson, Gabriel, to whom she devoted her time, her energy, and her boundless love. Their bond was extraordinary, full of laughter, guidance, and unconditional love. To Gabriel, she was not only a grandmother, but a teacher, protector, and constant source of comfort.
Theresa is survived by her beloved daughter, Gina LaConte; her son-in-law, Giriaco LaConte; her cherished grandson, Gabriel; and numerous nieces and nephews who will forever remember her warmth, wisdom, and gentle strength.
Theresa will be remembered as a woman who gave selflessly, loved fiercely, and left every place and every heart better than she found it. Her lessons live on in the countless lives she touched, and her love remains her family’s greatest inheritance.
