Sally A Smith

Sally A. Smith (Clark), 86, of East Hanover, passed away peacefully at her home on November 13, 2023.

Sally was born in Olyphant, Pennsylvania on July 20th, 1937. Her family moved many times before relocating to Newark, New Jersey the summer before high school. She attended Saint Vincent Academy in Newark, New Jersey and graduated in 1955. Soon after, she met Larry and they were married in 1959. They moved to East Hanover in 1961 and went on to have five children. Sally was a stay at home mom most of her life. She cherished every moment of that. Upon moving to East Hanover, she joined Saint Rose of Lima Church and was a faithful parishioner for more than 60 years.  She was also a member of the Living Stone‘s Prayer Group in Livingston. Her faith in Jesus was unwavering! She loved time spent with her family, especially with her dear grandchildren. Sally was a loving and compassionate friend to countless people, and had the distinct ability to make each and every person feel so very special. 

Devoted mother of Larry Smith, Steve Smith, his wife Lora, Tim Smith, Sally Mastras, her husband Mike, Tom Smith and his wife Kelly.  Cherished grandmother of Maddie, Frankie, Jack, Henry and Maggie.  Dear sister of Jerry.  Also survived by many nieces, a nephew, several cousins and dear friends. 

Sally was pre-deceased by her husband Larry Smith, her parents John and Clara, her siblings John, Mary Clare and Vincent and her granddaughter Bridget Jean Mastras.

Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Thursday from 4-7pm.  Funeral on Friday, assembling at the funeral home at 11am, followed by the funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover at 12pm.  Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in E. Hanover.
