Ruth Ann Christensen Young passed away peacefully at Brookdale Florham Park senior living community on Friday, August 7, 2020. She was 82.
Ruth was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. A New Jersey native, Ruth was born in Summit, raised in Millington, and moved to Randolph in 1959 where she raised her family before retiring to Gillette. Ruth was a graduate of Morristown High School and Centenary College.
Ruth loved to use her creativity and artistic skills to make things beautiful. She was a gifted artist and enjoyed interior decorating and design, gardening, antique restoration and renovation, crafting, needlepoint, drawing and painting.
Ruth was a devoted and faithful Christian. While living in Randolph, she was an active member at the First Memorial Presbyterian Church in Dover (elder), where she renovated and ran the local thrift shop. While living in Gillette, she was an active member at the First Presbyterian Church in Stirling (elder and deacon) where she served on many committees, including building and grounds.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband Cliff of 53 years, and by her eldest son Kent. Surviving are her son Dale, her daughter Kelli Pedrazzi, and six beloved grandchildren Tyler, Kristin, Sarah, Sam, Trevor and Julie.
Funeral services will be held privately.
