Ruth Borgo, age 93, passed away peacefully at her home with her family at her side in East Hanover, New Jersey, on April 2, 2026. Born on November 8, 1932, in Newark, New Jersey, Ruth lived a long, beautiful life anchored by the deep love she held for her family.
A dedicated housewife, Ruth spent her life creating a warm, nurturing, and loving home for her husband and children. Her family was her world, and her greatest joy was simply being surrounded by the people she loved. She leaves behind countless cherished memories of family trips to Long Beach Island, as well as fond recollections of her favorite excursions to Atlantic City.
Ruth is preceded in death by her beloved husband Ronald Borgo, her dear daughter Denise Brysett, her loving son-in-law Dennis Brysett, and her siblings Albert and Flo Ross.
Her enduring legacy of love and devotion lives on through the large, beautiful family she leaves behind. She is survived by her three children: her son Ronald and his wife Ramona; her son Daniel and his wife Robyn; and her daughter Lisa and her husband Anthony Monticello. She is also survived by Bruce Merker, the husband of her late daughter, Denise.
She was the proud grandmother to eleven grandchildren: Kim Zito and her husband Sean; Danielle Deuel; Chris Merker; Brian Merker; Ronald Borgo; Racquel Fuda and her husband Joe; Rick Borgo and his wife Julia; Nicholas Borgo and his wife Cristina; Erica Stottlemyer and her husband Kurt; Anthony Monticello; and Liana Monticello. Ruth's life was also richly blessed by her eight great-grandchildren: Sean Michael Zito and his fiancée Nicole Montesino; Joshua Deuel; Frankie and Vienna Fuda; Vincent and Joseph Borgo; Pia Borgo and Reagan Stottlemyer. Last, devoted and beloved friend to Grace Panico and Jennifer Commodore.
The funeral mass will be held at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover on Thursday, April 9th at 11:15am, followed by the entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
