Russell L. White, 91, passed away on July 19, 2022.
Beloved husband of 65 years to Marie (Dietrich) White. Devoted father to Andrew White of Florham Park, Jean Krueger and her husband Eric of Mount Olive. Cherished grandfather to Courtney of VA, Heidi of IL, Lance Krueger, Kirsten Geddes and her husband Phil of Mount Olive.
Russ was pre-deceased by his parents Juliette Duffy White McGinty and Lester Garret White, his step-father William McGinty, his sister Thelma Pieper and her husband Richard.
Russ was born in Rahway, NJ on July 10, 1931, and raised in Oakhurst, NJ. He was a graduate of Asbury Park High School and County College of Morris. Russ served 4 years in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict and married his wife Marie in 1955.
He worked at the Westinghouse Electric Corp. in Metuchen from 1956-1964 and Ohaus Scale in Florham Park for 26 years until retiring in 1994.
Russ organized and served as treasurer to several Golf and Bowling Leagues, and was on the steering committee and past president of the Florham Park Chapter 5109 AARP, in which he served for over 20 years. He also volunteered at the Boy Scouts District Office for 11 years, served as Treasurer of the Florham Park Senior Citizen Club for several years, and was a long-time member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Florham Park, in which he served as an Elder and a Deacon.
A memorial service will be held at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 144 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Saturday, July 30th at 11am.
