Rose Phillips Obituary

Rose Phillips (Fioretti), 69, of East Hanover, passed away peacefully at her home, with her loving family at her side, on October 25, 2024.

Rose was as unique as one could be regardless of the world and its standards.  Her refusal to accept the way things are, but rather how they ought to be, will carry on through her spirit in everyone she's touched throughout her life.  Her ability to find love, appreciation, and pure joy for the simple things in life, are an example of what all of us left behind should embrace. Her quick wit and wry sense of humor would catch you off guard and keep you entertained.  Her love for her parents, her siblings, her children, and her grandchildren is something that will never be forgotten.

Rose was born in Orange, NJ, raised in West Orange, and a longtime resident of East Hanover, NJ.  She was a hard worker in all her jobs which included office work and eventually dispatcher.  She was a varsity athlete for field hockey, basketball and softball at West Orange, Mountain High School.  Her first marriage was to Alexander Spagnuolo, the father of her children whom later became a life long friend and companion; a best friend.  Her second marriage to the beloved and recently passed Richie Phillips was where she spent the happiest times of her life, tending her yard, planting flowers and hosting beautiful family celebrations, most notably the 4th of July bash.  Rose and Richie treasured their annual trip to Chincoteague Island.

Rose will be greatly missed everyday by her family.  Rose is pre-deceased by her husband Richie Phillips, and her parents Robert and Theresa Fioretti. Devoted mother of Dana Spagnuolo, Ernie Spagnuolo, his wife Stacey, Robert Spagnuolo and his wife Chrissie.  Cherished grandmother of Charlie Spagnuolo, Alex, Leo and Jack Spagnuolo, Stella and Sonya Spagnuolo.  Dear sister of Rick Fioretti, his wife Mary, Roberta Fioretti, Anthony Fioretti, his wife Karen, Maria Benjamin, her husband Mark, and Theresa Trento and her husband Joey.  She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Wednesday, October 30th from 2-6pm, followed by a repast.
