Rosalind C Ferrer

Rosalind Carol Ferrer (Peebles / Martino), 86, peacefully began her walk with the angels in heaven on April 13, 2023.

Rosalind – or Lynn as she was known to her friends - was born on December 15,1936 to parents Anthony and Antoinette Martino in Newark, NJ. Lynn’s memory lives on with her three children; David Peebles, Judy (John) Minetti, Mary (Ralph) Hornberger, stepdaughters; Kim Ferrer and Donna Ferrer, sister; Kathryn (Carmine) Martin Prudente, brother; John (Anne Marie) Martino, and a host of loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Lynn was predeceased by her parents, her husband Edwin D. Peebles, her husband John L. Ferrer, and her siblings Bernadette (Martino) Terminello and Celine (Martino) Hyer.

Lynn had an amazing career encompassing almost five decades. After obtaining her BSRN she started working in Pediatrics at Union Hospital in NJ. Eventually she became the Director of Infection Control at St. Barnabas Medical Center – Livingston, NJ during the AIDS epidemic. She offered care, comfort, and support to all. Lynn was a pioneer in the field of Holistic Nursing working first in the Heart Center and later in the Cancer Center at Barnabas for 34 years. Lynn obtained a Masters in Counseling and for the last 12 years she volunteered at Mary’s Place By The Sea, a respite in NJ for women with cancer. She was also a member and volunteer at Joy’s Angels in NJ where she provided care and counseling for patients with cancer and their families. Lynn was one of the founding members and served on the Board of Directors at WINGS – a spiritual healing place in NJ for women with cancer. She also authored the book “Let Me Walk The Journey With You”.

As her family and friends grieve her loss, we take comfort knowing that Lynn has earned her “wings” and has returned to God’s glory with her heavenly family. Lynn will be truly missed, but will we always feel her healing presence in our hearts.

A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday April 22nd, 2:00 PM at Notre Dame of Mount Carmel Church, 75 Ridgedale Avenue in Cedar Knolls, NJ.  A Celebration of Life will be held later that day from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ravello – 138 Eagle Rock Avenue, East Hanover, NJ 07936.

Interment of ashes will take place at a Memorial Park in Long Beach Island, NJ at a later date.
