Ronald DeSena, 81, of Morristown, New Jersey, and Bonita Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2023.
To those who knew him, Ron was a profoundly generous individual, who cared deeply about his family. He was an avid golfer, having been a member of Brooklake Country Club for over thirty years. He loved the NY Rangers, playing cards, skiing, and spending time with his large Italian family. He was especially known for his fantastic, often wry, sense of humor.
A self-made man, he was an entrepreneur at heart. He started his own company in 1979, successfully leading it for over forty years.
Ron was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 28, 1941. In 1963, he married his sweetheart, Emelia Rutigliano. Together, they raised three children, built a business, and, in addition to having their own amazing adventures, enjoyed watching their children and grandchildren excel.
With the lifelong support of his wife, Emelia, he was a devoted father to his son Ron and his fiancé Michael, Kim and her partner Rob, and Justine and her partner Mark. He adored his grandchildren Emelia, Will, Drew, and Olivia.
He is predeceased by his parents, Bonita and Frank, and his sister, Phyllis, and her husband John Rutigliano. He is also survived by their children Lisa, John, and Bonita. He will be greatly missed by his large family of in-laws, nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Sunday from 1-4pm. Funeral on Monday, assembling at the funeral home at 10am, followed by the committal prayers and entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum at 11:15am.
