Romualda Olszowy Obituary

Romualda Olszowy, beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, godmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2024, at the age of 86.

Born in Lazek, Poland, Roma emigrated to the United States in 1966 with her husband Jan in search of a brighter future and the prospect of greater opportunities for her family. Roma left behind her loving parents, sister, and a school job she loved for a new beginning.

Roma had a deep love for education, often encouraging her children to pursue their studies and instilling in them a lifelong appreciation for learning. Roma always put others before herself and was known for her generosity. She was known for her boundless willingness to help those in need, offering whatever she could.

An avid walker, Roma found peace and happiness in exploring her neighborhood. She also had a playful side, enjoying the thrill of lottery tickets and the excitement of slot machines. Roma had a special talent for turning ordinary moments into unforgettable ones, often delighting those around her with her witty one-liners that always brought smiles.

Roma is survived by her loving children, Darek Olszowy, Izabel Garcia, Marta Zeien, and son-in-law Richard Zeien along with her cherished grandchildren: Alexandra and Jonathan Garcia; Jessica, Gregory, and Andrea Zeien. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jan Olszowy. Roma is also remembered fondly by her nieces, Magda Markowski and Mary Baran as well as many loving relatives, and friends who will forever cherish her love and support. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and generosity that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

A celebration of Roma’s life will be held on October 19, 2024, from 1pm to 3pm at Leonardis Memorial Home where friends and family are invited to share stories and memories of Roma, including a prayer service at 1:30pm.

Rest in peace, Roma. Your kindness, laughter, and love for life will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
