Robert A West

Robert A. West, 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on February 19, 2020.  Robert was born and raised in Danville, P.A and was a long-time resident of East Hanover, NJ.  He served in the US Navy on the USS Coral Sea Air Craft Carrier during the Korean Conflict, and held several occupations throughout his career. 

In the 50’s, Bob worked as a barber in Florida, where he cut the hair of the Detroit Tigers team while in Spring training. Bob moved to NJ to raise a family where he worked at Greystone Hospital. He then owned his own gas station in Denville. After that, he became a full-time auto mechanic, working at various locations throughout his life.

Beloved husband of 62 years to the late Bernice West.  Devoted father of Linda Lovio, her husband Mark, Diane West, Chuck West and his wife Lisa.  Cherished grandfather of Evan, Michael, Kaila and Matthew.  Robert was 1 of 13 siblings. 

Funeral services held privately.  Donations can be made in Robert’s name to The NJ Veterans Memorial Home ,
