Robert Tortorello Obituary

Robert Tortorello, 96, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 27, 2018.

Robert was born and raised in Newark and resided many years in Manahawkin.  He was a US Army Veteran during WWII, where he received the American Campaign, Asiatic Pacific Campaign, Good Conduct, and WWII Victory Metals.  Robert received his bachelor degree at Uppsala College, served as a counselor on the Newark Board of Education and was the co-owner of Rosso’s Gourmet & Fruit Shop.

Beloved husband of the late Marge Tortorello.  Loving uncle of Kenneth Spatola, Richard Spatola, Danny Tortorello, Joyce Tortorello and Phyllis Giordano.  Great-uncle of Danielle Giordano Bojczak.  He was the last surviving of 6 siblings. 

Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Wednesday from 2-5pm.  Funeral on Thursday assembling at 8:45am followed by the funeral mass at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover at 9:45am.  Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Manahawkin.
