Philomena Mitola, "Aunt Phyl," age 98, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024. Known for her feisty spirit, sharp wit, and heart full of love, Phyllis brought joy and laughter to all who knew her. She was never afraid to tell it like it was, a trait that endeared her to family and friends alike.
Phyllis loved a good card game and was always ready for a day at the horse track, where her competitive spirit truly shone. She was devoted to her family and cherished the many memories she shared with her loved ones.
Phyllis is predeceased by her parents, Peter and Rose Mitola, and was the last surviving of nine siblings. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, whom she cherished deeply.
Phyllis’s love for family, sense of humor, and boundless energy will be forever missed but never forgotten. Her legacy of strength and love lives on in the hearts of all lucky to know her.
The funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 20th, at Holy Family Church in Florham Park at 9:30 am, followed by entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Philomena’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association. See donation box below for details.
