Patricia Verderamo Caldwell Obituary

Patricia Verderamo Caldwell, 76, of East Hanover, NJ, passed peacefully on June 1, 2026, "Patti", The heart that held everyone together, Surrounded by her loving family.

Patti's story began humbly in Orange, a young woman with sharp instincts, quiet determination, and a world of possibility ahead of her. She started in beauty school, learning early on the art of making people feel good, feel seen, feel cared for. But her ambitions ran deeper, with tireless drive and an innate business acumen, she transformed adversity into opportunity, eventually building one of the most prestigious title agency companies in the region, Home Title, then going on to serve as State Sales Manager for Chicago Title. What she built wasn't just a career, it was a testament to what grit, fairness, and people-first leadership can achieve.

Then, twenty-six years ago, Patti found her person and in doing so, she found four children too. She never once considered the word step. From the moment she entered their lives, she was simply their New Jersey mother: present, devoted, and entirely their own. She didn't take on a ready-made family so much as she claimed it with open arms, an open home, and a love that never made anyone feel like anything less than hers.

To walk into Patti's home was to understand immediately what love looks like in action. Her door was always open on holidays, on ordinary Tuesdays, on days when someone just needed a warm meal and a warm presence. She had a gift for making a houseful of people feel like the most natural thing in the world, turning every gathering into something that felt like Thanksgiving, every table into a celebration. Her cooking wasn't just food it was how she said I love you, I see you, you belong here.

The young people in her life were especially blessed by her. Patti had an extraordinary ability to guide youth not with lectures, but with listening. She always heard both sides of every story. She weighed things fairly, spoke honestly, and moved through the world with a rare and quiet fairness that everyone around her could feel. When a problem arose, she didn't shy away; she leaned in, curious and willing, always looking for a solution.

Her generosity was unmatched. Not the performative kind, the real kind, the kind that shows up quietly and asks nothing in return. Family was everything to Patti, and she protected and nurtured that belief in everyone lucky enough to know her.

And when the golden harmonies of doo-wop filled the room those timeless 50s melodies that seemed to carry her spirit Patti was fully, joyfully herself.

She chose us. She fed us. She held us together.  The table will always have a place set for Patti.

Beloved wife of David Caldwell. Devoted New Jersey mother of David (Laurie) Anderson, Tyson (Alicia) Caldwell, Bryson (Carmen) Caldwell, and Caylee (Aaron) Freeman. Cherished grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, and friends.

Patti was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Judy Verderamo, and her brother, Arthur Verderamo.
