Pasquale J. De Falco, “Pat”, 86, of Ortley Beach, formerly of E. Hanover, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He started his career in men's clothing as a manager at Larkey's in Newark eventually opening his own business. The first of three PJ Charlton's stores opened in 1976 at the Paramus Park Mall where he was the head of the Merchants' Association for 10 years. After twenty years, an opportunity arose to follow his passion for golf by becoming the Superintendent of Golf at the Knoll Country Club in Parsippany, finally retiring in 2012.
Pat's love for the Jersey Shore inspired him to purchase a summer home in Ortley Beach, eventually making it his permanent residence in 2009. Throughout the years, annual family gatherings became a beloved tradition, bringing together friends and relatives. Many memories and relationships were built on "The Deck".
Pat was the monarch of the family to whom everyone turned. He never met a stranger and was loved by all. An avid Giants fan and season ticket holder, he looked forward to the games with family and friends, having attended numerous Super Bowls. Travel was another passion for Pat whether it was Europe, the guys' annual golf trip or skiing with his family. A great time was always had. He continued to grow his circle of wonderful friends spending time and making memories at his Delray Beach home in the winter months.
