Pasquale Longo Obituary

Pasquale A. Longo, 82, of Whippany, formerly of East Orange, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on September 16, 2021.

Pasquale (Patsy) was a devoted son, brother, friend, uncle, husband, father, and grandfather. He was born in Alberona, Italy and immigrated at the age of 7 to East Orange, NJ where he grew up and attended East Orange High School. He enlisted in the US Army in 1958 and joined the 1st Calvary Division, eventually becoming a member of the 101st Airborne Division (Screaming Eagles). He spent a little over a year serving in Korea during peace time and was honorably discharged in 1964.

Pasquale met his loving wife in 1961, they were married in November 1962 and had three daughters, Bridget, Rosalie, and Carolyn. He worked in construction but eventually started his own business, Longo Landscaping LLC. He had a creative eye for landscape design and Japanese Koi Ponds and built a successful business that spanned 40 years until his retirement.  Pasquale became a leader in his trade and was well respected by his peers. He co-founded Quality Landscaping Association where members would share ideas and recommendations and were dedicated to the growth and success of their own business as well as the industry.

Pasquale was an avid hunter and fisherman who traveled throughout the United States and internationally including Alaska, Canada, South Africa, Russia, and Costa Rica. He enjoyed traveling with his family, spending time at his second home at the Jersey Shore, and took pleasure in entertaining family and friends.

Pasquale was always helping others and made a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was a proud American, loved his country and always honored his heritage. He is loved and will be missed by all.

Beloved husband of 58 years to Pasqualina Longo.  Devoted father of Bridget Poole, Rosalie Mandel, her husband Phil, Carolyn O’Leary and her husband Dan.  Cherished grandfather of Natalie, Alec and Rachel, Morgan and Matthew.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.  Pasquale was pre-deceased by his parents Marco and Brigida Longo, his sister Rosa Palmieri and her husband Salvatore.
