Palmina LoConte, 86, of East Hanover, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family on July 28, 2023.
Devoted mother of Vincenzo, his wife Catherine, Tomasso, his wife Colleen, Giuseppe and his wife Mary. Cherished grandmother of Brian, Patrick, Anna, Christina, Michael Joseph, Haley and Michael Thomas. Proud great-grandmother of Alexa and Jack. Palmina, one of six, is survived by her sisters Josephine and Joanne as well as an extended loving family and friends. Palmina is pre-deceased by her husband Angelo Michael, their son Angelo Michael, and her parents Tomasso and Filomena Masucci.
Palmina was born in Flumeri, Italy in 1936. Palmina and Angelo were married in Italy in 1958 and moved to Newark, New Jersey shortly afterwards. Angelo passed away in 1973 and in 1977, Palmina and their sons moved to East Hanover. While raising her boys, Palmina worked at Automatic Switch in Florham Park for many years, retiring at the age of 74. Most important to Palmina was her family, faith and friends. She was a longstanding member of St. Rose of Lima Church and served as a faithful rosarian. She loved to cook, bake, crochet and knit. She spent many hours at the East Hanover Senior Citizens Club where she enjoyed spending time with friends.
Visitation will be held at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Tuesday, August 1, from 4-8pm. Palmina’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, assembling at the funeral home at 11:45am, followed by the funeral mass at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover at 12:45pm.
