Nicola “Nick” Palmieri, 90, of Bloomfield, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2022.
Nicola was born in Deliceto, Foggia, Italy and immigrated to the USA to be with his family in 1961. As a lifelong tailor, he served the Essex County community for 60 years with pride and craftsmanship.
Through this tailor shop, he worked with hundreds of customers who became friends. He proudly created bespoke clothing for local residents as well as supported the local law enforcements needs. Nick continued to work at his craft up until his 90th birthday.
His most important impact was on his family and friends. He was always surrounded by loved ones and if Uncle Nick was there, you knew fun was on the agenda. He treated his nieces, nephew and great nieces and nephews in the US and Italy as if they were his own children. Uncle Nick was a child at heart always bringing humor, laughter and pure fun to the family. Family and friends will always remember Nick’s love for life and genuine happiness which could only make you smile with him.
Devoted husband of 49 years to Gina (Rogato) Palmieri. Dear brother of Raffaele Palmieri, his wife Maria, Carmela Palmieri, Vinny Palmieri and his wife Marie. Also survived by his brother -in-law Franco Rogato and his wife Catia as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Nick was pre-deceased by his mother Filomena
Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Wednesday from 4-7pm. Funeral on Thursday assembling at the funeral home at 10am, followed by the committal service and entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover at 11am.
