Nicholas J. Vitale, 85, of East Hanover, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on May 18, 2024.
Nick graduated from Caldwell High School in 1957 and went on to Essex and Morris County colleges to complete all work connected to construction and building inspection .His work included the construction of the Meadowlands.
Nick served in the Army National Guard and then in the Army Reserves getting an Honorable Discharge in 1968.
Beloved husband of 60 years to Marie A. Vitale. Devoted father of Nicholas J. Vitale, Jr. and Michelle Vitale. Cherished grandfather of Abigail and Charlotte Vitale Loghlin. Dear brother of Elaine Swendeman and Joanne Smith. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Nick was pre-deceased by his parents Jospeh and Rose Vitale and his brother John Vitale.
Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Tuesday from 4-7pm. Funeral on Wednesday, assembling at the funeral home at 11am, followed by the funeral mass at Holy Family Church in Florham Park at 12pm. Entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
