Neil Mario DellaTorre

Neil Mario DellaTorre, 73, of Fort Myers, FL, formerly of East Hanover, NJ, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Diane DellaTorre, his children Neil DellaTorre Jr and his wife Jen, Jackie DellaTorre and Doug Iwachow, Rachael and Jim Kessinger, Tracey Vinavich, Jeff Vinavich, and Marty Vinavich,  his grandchildren Neil and Nicky DellaTorre, Lilly (and Alec Tonazzi) Kessinger, Lucas Kessinger, Lexi Kessinger, Cody Stiner, Ray Andrew, Chase Herring, Alec (Sam Culver) Vinavich, Kaiden Vinavich, Brenden and McKayleigh Vinavich and Mercedes Vinavich, who he loved cheering on throughout their sports and hobbies, his sister Adele Guthreau and her husband Lance, his brother Mario DellaTorre and his wife Dale, and his sister-in-law Jayne, as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends, and his faithful and loving dog Bella.

Neil was predeceased by his parents Mario and Tess DellaTorre, his brother Guy and his wives Patricia and Lynn.

Known as Big Neil far and wide, a true Legend and character of all characters. A proud Jersey boy for most of his life then also a proud Florida resident in his retirement. Served the Township of East Hanover as the head of the recreation department then later in his career became the head of the department of public works for many years. He loved his family, golfing, eating, hosting parties, he was so proud of being inducted into The Marquis Who’s Who in America Board in 2020, singing Sinatra any chance he got, going to the casino, watching the New York Yankees and the New York giants and just having fun. We will all miss his wild and fun spirit.

Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Sunday, April 12th from 1-4pm.  The funeral will held on Monday, April 13th, assembling at the funeral home at 10am, followed by the committal prayer service and interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover at 11am.
