Michael Zecca, Sr. Obituary

Michael John Zecca, Sr., 89, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on June 5, 2020.  He lived a full and rewarding life devoted to God and  family.  Michael resided many years in Belleville before moving to East Hanover in 1963.  He was a Sergeant in the US Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. While serving, he fought for four years with the Cherry Point Flyers boxing team in both the NY Golden Gloves and the Charolette, NC Golden Gloves.  He then graduated from Seton Hall University and worked many years as an Accountant before retiring. 

Beloved husband of 62 years to Diann (Castellano) Zecca.  Devoted father of Michael J. Zecca, Jr., his wife AnnMarie, Joseph Zecca, his wife Donna, Steven Zecca, his girlfriend Sheri, Michelle Ruccio, her husband Frank, Karen Glodek and her husband Greg.  Cherished grandfather of Marie, Michael III, and Christopher, Jade, Renee, Julia, Joey and Marco, Alec, John and Mark, Olivia, Skyler and Gregory.  Great-grandfather of Mason, Anthony and Nicolas.  Dear brother of Theresa Guarino and RoseMarie Minichini.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.  Michael is pre-deceased by his grandson Steven and siblings Ralph, Joe, Anthony, Carmen and Geraldine.

A memorial mass that will be held on Monday October 5,  2020 at St Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover at 5:00 pm .
