Michael Mochnal Obituary

Michael Dennis Mochnal - of South Orange passed away peacefully at Overlook Hospital on May 30, 2019. The phrase, “Give and you shall receive”, defined his life. This was evidenced by the overwhelming support he received as he dealt with cancer.

Mike loved cooking, traveling and taking his nieces and nephews to sporting events. He collected fine wines, watches and Buffalo Bills memorabilia. His favorite getaway with friends and clients was Las Vegas. Mike prided himself on being a member of the 1984 state champion wrestling team at North Hunterdon High School.

More than anything, Michael loved his family and could not have been more thankful and proud of his sister Katie. Katie guided and supported Michael with love and knowledge throughout his two-year battle with cancer. Michael is survived by parents Dennis and Mary Jo Mochnal, sister and brother-in-law, Katie and Justin Edge, brother and sister-in-law Brian and Tracey Mochnal, their children Lauren and Patrick, brother and sister in law Peter and Nicole Mochnal and their children Grace, Madeline and James.

For the last eleven years Mike worked for IPM in New York City. This was more than just a job, it was a second family. Mike cherished their friendship and support throughout his illness.
