Michael Buoye Obituary

Michael Buoye, 75, of East Hanover, passed away peacefully at his home on December 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Michael was a devoted father, husband, grandfather and brother who had a big impact on all who knew and loved him. Growing up in West Orange with 9 other siblings, he established his “fight” for life with shared bedrooms, station wagon seats  and dinner plates. Growing up a fighter helped to shape his mentality with serving in the US Navy and working his way to lead foreman at Automatic Switch Company (ASCO), after an almost 50 year career. Michael always put a lot of effort into his work; working 7 days a week, shoveling roads at 3AM, and being a lending hand and friend to all.

He did all that he could to support his loving family and friends. Being a single dad, he put in many efforts  to wear multiple hats; dance “dad,” softball “coach,” cheerleader, caregiver, and shoulder to cry on (or with!).

Everything he did was for his “girls” and all his dedication  and love never went unnoticed. He was never one to turn down a hug, a drink or a dance party, and was always able to be the life of the party.

Devoted father of Kellie M. Buoye, Brenda E. Williams and her husband Erik.  Cherished grandfather of Garrett.  Dear brother of Suzie, Diane, Joann, Jimmy and Timmy.  Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Michael was pre-deceased by his wife Teresa, his parents John and Frances, and his siblings John, Robert, Richard and Dennis.
