Mary Lou Germershausen

Mary Lou Germershausen, 68, of Florham Park, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on October 22, 2024. 

Beloved wife of 45 years to Charlie Germershausen. Devoted mother of Charlie II, his wife Stefanie, Thomas and his wife Kristin. Cherished Nanny of 4 grandchildren. Dear sister of Shelley, Bonnie, her husband William, and brother Charles.  Also survived by many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Mary Lou was pre-deceased by her parents Charles and Agnes Lizun, and her sisters Susan and Agnes. 

Mary Lou enjoyed baking, gardening, spending time with her family and grandchildren and making frequent trips to Lancaster Pennsylvania. She was a teacher’s aid at Holy Family Parish, business owner alongside her husband and was successfully elected to serve as a member of the county committee. These achievements aside, her greatest pride was found in those who called her mom and Nanny. Forever full of creativity, she was known for her handmade holiday outfits including Halloween costumes and incredible calligraphy skills. She gave freely of herself to everyone she loved and strove to make every moment with her loved ones special from impromptu family dinners to larger occasions.   She will forever be celebrated in the hearts of those who knew and adored her.

Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Friday, October 25th from 4-7pm.  The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, October 26th, 10am, at Holy Family Church in Florham Park, followed by the entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in E. Hanover.
