Marietta R Finelli

Marietta R. Finelli, 67, of East Hanover, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2023.

Born in Newark, NJ, Marietta grew up in Bloomfield, and then established her life in East Hanover, where she volunteered at her local parish, worked in a nursery school, and ended her career with the East Hanover Police Department. Although, her main job and passion was caring for her home and family.

Marietta's most loved treasure was her family, especially her grandchildren and two dogs, Chino & Kei. A few of her favorite hobbies included cooking, dancing, and chatting the night away with her friends. She was known by many and loved by even more. Her selfless deeds throughout her life brought her such joy and she will always be remembered for her miraculous strength, kindness, and full heart. She will be greatly missed.

Devoted mother of Evelyn Monteiro, her husband Edward, Michelle Major, her husband Michael, Sal Finelli and his wife Patricia.  Cherished grandmother of Ana and Maria, Michael and Maxwell, Salvatore and Evalina. Dear sister of John DeFillipps, Carmen DeFillipps and Steve DeFillipps.  Marietta was pre-deceased by her parents John and Evelyn DeFillipps. 

Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Tuesday from 4-7pm.  Funeral on Wednesday, assembling at the funeral home at 9am, followed by the funeral mass at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover at 10am.  Entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
