Marie Carnevale (Zarillo), 94, of East Hanover, formerly of Orange, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Marie was a woman who found joy in life’s simple pleasures and found her greatest happiness in the people she loved. She enjoyed visits to the casino, where her lively spirit and sense of fun always shined through, and she cherished a relaxing glass of wine shared with good company. Sundays were especially meaningful to her, as she loved cooking and gathering her family around the table, creating not just meals but lasting memories filled with laughter, warmth, and togetherness. Above all, her greatest joy was her family.
She was the devoted mother of Vicki Satriano and her husband Anthony, Joseph Carnevale and his wife Margaret, and Teresa Cross and her husband David. She was the cherished grandmother of Anthony, Joseph, Rocco, Maria and her husband Ronnie, Vincent and his wife Christina, Theresa and her husband Nick, Alyssa, and Carmen. She was the proud great-grandmother of Nicolette, Mia, and Viviana. Marie was the dear sister of William Zarillo and his wife Sandra, and is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Carnevale, with whom she shared 68 years of marriage, her siblings Joseph, Cono, Carmela and by her parents, Thomas and Teresa Zarillo.
Visitation will be held at Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park, on Monday, April 6th from 4–7 PM. A funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 7th, assembling at the funeral home at 10:15 AM, followed by a funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover at 11:15 AM.
