Marie M Anzalone

Marie M. Anzalone, 108, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025.

Born in Newark, NJ in 1916, Marie lived in Florham Park for 64 years. Marie is survived by her loving daughter, Elaine Collins and son-in-law Donovan Collins. Cherished grandmother of Laurie Langfeld, Brian Collins and Michael Collins, great-grandmother of Matthew Langfeld, Julia Langfeld, Charlotte Langfeld and Hannah Collins, also many loving nieces and nephews. Marie was predeceased by her husband of 66 years Louis J. Anzalone.

Marie was a graduate of Montclair State University, then known as Panzer College. She taught in Newark Schools, Greystone State Park Hospital and Holy Family School, where she was the school’s first physical education teacher for girls.

Marie was a Red Cross Volunteer Dietician Aide during WWII and active in early Pre-Cana and Catholic Family Action Movements. She was a Girl Scout leader at St. Joseph Maplewood and delegate to Greater Essex County Council of Girl Scouting. Marie was a Library of Congress Certified Volunteer Braille Transcriber for 25 years, she was treasurer and vice-president of the Madison-Chatham Braille Association, Marie brailed text and literary books for the NJ Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired and other Various state libraries.

A member of The Rosary Society of Holy Family Church and an active member of the Florham Park Seniors, AARP # 5109 and The Suburbanites she received the Living Treasure Award of Morris County in 2011. While being an Avid Gardener and bridge player she also enjoyed travel, books and dancing.

Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Sunday, March 30th from 1-4pm. Funeral on Monday, March 31st, assembling at the funeral home at 9am, followed by funeral mass at Holy Family Church in Florham Park at 10am with a repast to immediately follow.
