Maria Lucia Araujo

Maria Lucia Araujo, 80, of East Hanover, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on November 12, 2024.

Maria Lucia was born in Couto de Erverdedo, Portugal and moved to the U.S. in 1969. Nothing brought her more joy than being surrounded by family and friends.

Beloved wife of 57 years to Manuel Castro Araujo. Devoted mother of Rosalie Araujo-Quintino, her husband Rui Jorge, Ann Marie Araujo, Diane Cohen and her husband Robert. Cherished grandmother of Devon and Natalie Quintino. Dear sister of Carminda, Almira and Conceição. Also, survived by many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Maria Lucia was pre-deceased by her parents Abel and Maria, her siblings Tony, Aníbal and Gloria, father-in-law Luis, mother-in-law Rosalina, and brothers-in-law Domingos and João.

Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park, on Friday from 4-7pm.  Funeral on Saturday, assembling at the funeral home at 10:15am, followed by the funeral mass at St. Rose of Lima Church in E. Hanover at 11:15am.  Entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
