Marguerite Lemongello

Marguerite Lemongello (Corbo), 84, of East Hanover, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. 

Marguerite was born in Glenridge, NJ. She grew up in the Silver Lake section of Belleville and attended Mount Saint Dominic Academy. She was a member of the first graduating class at Cabrini College in Pennsylvania, where she earned a degree in education. She began her teaching career at number 7 school in Belleville, where she met the love of her life Michael V. Lemongello. After getting married, she stepped away from her profession to raise her three children. She later returned to teaching special education in the Parsippany School District. She loved teaching and making a difference in the life of child. She ended her career after more than 30 years to spend time with her 7 grandchildren. They were her pride and joy, and she spent all of her time with them.

Marguerite was a devoted catholic and active parishioner at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover, where she was a eucharistic minister and lector. She spent more than 20 years teaching religious education. She was an active community member where she made many life-long friends. In her later years, she enjoyed socializing with the East Hanover Senior Citizens.

Devoted mother of Michael R. Lemongello, Michelle Chirichiello, her husband Angelo, Maria Callanan and her husband Thomas.  Cherished grandmother of Jack and Luke, Michelle, Gianna and Angelo, Thomas and Jonathan.  Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

She was pre-deceased by her husband of 47 years, Michael V. Lemongello, her parents Dominick and Catherine Corbo, and her sister Madeline Wilson. 

Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Sunday from 1-4pm.  Funeral on Monday, assembling at the funeral home at 10am, followed by the funeral mass at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover at 11am.  Entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
