Marcia A Davis

Marcia A. Davis passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Arbor Terrace, Roseland, NJ.  Marcia was born on November 9, 1935 in Trenton, NJ to Roger and Alice Sherman.  She grew up in the Chambersburg section of Trenton living above the family restaurant.  Marcia attended Villa Victoria Academy/Cathedral High School.

Marcia had a varied career life. Her professional career started as a legal secretary for many years but found her calling with labor negotiations.  Working in the federal government first with the EEOC in New York City.  Then with the Department of Defense she worked in Germany, Utah, Seattle and finally Fort Dix, NJ as Director of Human Relations.

All this worked well with her love to travel.  Marcia would spend weeks at a time in Mexico or river cruises in Europe.  She traveled to every county in Europe over the years and was a personal travel guide for many friends and family.

After retirement Marcia joined Contact of Ocean & Monmouth Counties as a volunteer and Board member.  She headed fundraising for most of her 18 years with the organization including the annual fashion show.

Marcia is survived by her only son, Ronald Davis, his wife, Deborah Politi Davis, three grandsons, Anthony and his wife Carly, Timothy and Thomas, and cousin Raymond Allison.

A Memorial Visitation will be held at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Thursday from 4-7pm.  The Memorial Mass will be held on Friday at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover at 9:45am followed by the inurnment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
