Mairead Dowling (Richards), 83, of East Hanover, NJ, formerly of Dublin, Ireland, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family on June 22, 2021. Mairead worked at the Frank J. Smith School in East Hanover for 23 years before retiring. She was loved and will be missed by all whom knew her.
Beloved wife of 61 years to Edmond Dowling. Devoted mother of Edmond Dowling, his wife Aine, David Dowling, his wife Philomena, Brian Dowling, his wife Sally, Stephan Dowling, his wife Anya, Tara Lockwood, her husband William, Rhonda Cremin, her husband Michael, Aidan Dowling and his wife Trish. Proud grandmother of 19 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Eileen Bracken and her husband Brendan. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and dear friends.
Mairead is pre-decease by her parents James and Eileen Richards, her infant daughter Eileen Dowling, and her best friend Ethel Stanley.
Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Thursday from 4-8pm. Funeral on Friday assembling at the funeral home at 11:30am followed by the funeral mass at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover at 12:30pm.
