Lori A. Pompei (Furfaro), 61, of East Hanover, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on July 4, 2021.
Lori was an expert teacher at Brooklake Elementary for 16 years, earning teacher of the year, among many other accolades. She was an avid crafter, including quilting, needlepoint, and crocheting. Her crafts have been coveted gifts for friends and family for many years. Lori also loved being in the kitchen as an expert cook and baker. Her Christmas cookie trays were the talk of the town, and she could handle any cooking challenge and technique thrown at her. She loved fishing, wave running, and taking long walks with her husband at their lake house in upstate New York. She set a flawless example of what a model parent should be like and considers her greatest accomplishments in life to be her children.
Beloved wife of 36 years to Glenn A. Pompei. Devoted mother of Marc Pompei, Nicole Pompei Zettlemoyer and her husband Matthew. Loving daughter of Philomena Furfaro and the late Peter Furfaro. Dear sister of Peter Furfaro, his wife Kathy, Sharon Shrader, her husband David, Clare Furfaro Ives and her husband Robert. Also survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her Dog Noah.
Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Wednesday from 4-8pm. Funeral on Thursday assembling at the funeral home at 9am followed by the burial and committal service at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover at 10am.
