Libera Armenti (Martella), 93, passed away peacefully at her home on September 10, 2023.
Libera was born in Guasto Castelpetroso, Italy. She came to America with her family in 1970. She resided in Irvington before moving to Union in 1983. Libera was a dedicated worker. She worked for Victory Engineering in Springfield NJ for over 20 years (never missed a day) until she retired.
After retirement, Libera loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking for her family. Some of her specialties were lasagna, pizzelle and her special homemade sauce with tomatoes from her garden.
Libera was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her family.
Devoted mother of Mario Armenti (Diane) and Concetta Cangialosi (Michael). Cherished grandmother of Liberato (Victoria), Jennifer, Nicholas (Chris), Daniela (Sam), the late Giovanni, Joseph, Melissa (Giorgio). Proud great-grandmother of Lauren, Sophia, Mario, Cristina, Siena, Rachel, Kara, Giovanni and Vincent. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her caretaker Joanna.
Libera was pre-deceased by her husband Liberato Armenti of 69 years, her son Amalio Armenti, Her grandson Giovanni, her parents Giovanni and Amelia Martella, and her siblings Nicola Martella and Beatrice Farro.
Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Thursday from 4-7pm. Funeral on Friday, assembling at the funeral home at 9am, followed by the funeral mass at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover at 10am. Entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
