Karen is survived by Barry, her devoted husband of 48 years, her loving daughters, Michelle Marion and her husband Sean, and Donna Zdanowicz and her husband Ed, her loving grandsons, Dylan and Austin Marion, Ben and Robert Zdanowicz ,her loving sister Kathy Harrell and loving niece and nephews, Kristina, Walter, and Christopher Harrell.
Karen graduated from Manchester High School in Haledon, NJ and Katherine Gibbs School, Montclair, NJ in June 1971. She was the PAL and Brownie Troupe Director of East Hanover. She was a devout Catholic.
Karen worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Foster Wheeler Corporation for 8 years and the American Heating Corporation for 3 years.
Karen and Barry traveled the globe including a trip to the Holy Land and family trips to Maui, the Bahamas, and Italy.
She loved to bowl on the Tuesday Belles league at Hanover Lanes. Barry and Karen were integral participants in the Morris County Belles softball league. She rarely missed a Park Hockey game watching her grandsons on the ice.
Karen loved the Yankees, the color purple, leopard prints, Lilly Pulitzer clothes and Chardonnay. Karen’s favorite place was at The Grande, overlooking the ocean in Wildwood Crest. Over the years she was a loving mentor and second mother to the friends of her daughters , and made a major impact in their lives to this day. Her presence will be missed, but she will live on in our hearts forever.
Visitation at Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc, 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Tuesday from 4-7 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 am. at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover, followed by the interment at Restland Memorial Park.
