Joseph (Joe) Frisari, 74, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family.
Born in the coastal town of Bisceglie, Italy, Joe was one of 11children, cherished by his parents Girolamo and Veronica. At age 8, he immigrated to the United States with his family, first settling in Brooklyn, NY. He spent several years in New YorkCity – studying drama, comedy and improv at Pace University in the 1970’s and perfecting his culinary skills both at home and as a chef at local restaurants – and later moved to New Jersey with his wife and growing family.
A gifted chef, Joe nourished not only his restaurant patrons but also his friends and family, who were fortunate to enjoy his delicious meals and witty jokes. His warm hugs, funny faces, and playful spirit were the true ingredients that made him beloved by so many.
Above all, Joe was a devoted father who relished every moment spent with his two sons, whether it was listening to music on his record player, watching their favorite TV shows or sharing meals together.
Joe is survived by his sons, Alexander Frisari and Gregory Frisari, and many loving brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him deeply. His legacy of love, humor, and warmth will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc. (210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park, NJ) will be held on Friday, February 21st from 4-7pm. On Saturday, February 22nd, loved ones may assemble at the funeral home at 9am and attend the funeral mass at 10am at St. Rose of Lima Church (312 Ridgedale Ave, EastHanover, NJ).
