Joseph I. Canderozzi, 83, of Parsippany, NJ, formerly of Brooklyn, NY, passed away on June 16, 2021.
Joseph was born in Brooklyn NY then moved to Parsippany NJ in 1983. He retired from the insurance industry in the late 90’s. He was an Army Veteran and served his time during the Vietnam War. Joseph and his wife Teresa owned The Ridge Restaurant in Basking Ridge for 33yrs. He was an active member of the Basking Ridge Chamber of Commerce. Joseph was one of the original members of the Cento Amici Italian Organization, served as President for several years and then remained an active member. Joseph also sat on the Advisory Board of the School of Performing Arts at Montclair State University. He tied in his role as a Cento Amici member and together they worked to create scholarships for MSU as well as other local universities.
Joseph has achieved many accolades and titles in his life but his most important accomplishment was the family he built and the very special friendships made in his life.
Devoted husband of 42 years to Teresa (Scarimbolo) Canderozzi. Devoted father of Robert, his wife Frances, Anthony, his wife Gerilyn, Judi, her husband Ben, Daniela, Nico and his wife Jackie. Cherished grandfather of Arielle and Robert, Noah, Zachary and Jacob, Danielle and Stephanie, Nicole, Victoria, Olivia and Joseph, Jordan, Sebastiano and Alessandro. Dear brother of Richard, his wife Mariellen, and Edward. Also survived by many loving family members and friends.
Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Monday and Tuesday from 3-8pm. Funeral on Wednesday assembling at the funeral home at 10am followed by the funeral mass at St. Peter the Apostle Church in Parsippany at 11am. Entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
