Joseph Bezzone Obituary

Joseph R. “JB” Bezzone, Sr., 82, 1938-2021

Joseph R. Bezzone, Sr. “JB”, passed away on October 30, surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Maria Bezzone, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. He was 82.

Joseph was born on December 13, 1938, to Ralph and Minnie Bezzone in Newark, NJ, where he was raised with a lot of love.

His first of many proud moments was when he was accepted to St. Benedict’s Preparatory School. Upon graduation he attended and graduated from Seton Hall University in 1960, with a major in Accountancy and started an early career as an accountant. In 1961 he met the love of his life, Maria Del Priore, and they were married soon after.

Newly married, Joseph quickly realized he wanted to be a business owner, so he took his accounting experience along with his grit and charisma and set out on a very successful career as a painting contractor, initially with his brother-in-law Alberto Del Priore. He expanded it later into a leading commercial and hospitality business in interior renovations.

Beyond his infinite love for his family and friends, JB had a profound love of this country and had the privilege to serve as sergeant of the US Army National Guard. He also had a great appreciation for travel, especially to Italy. Another great love was for the game of golf, where he had a weekly standing game at his beloved Rock Spring County Club, enjoying the kinship and friendships he made every bit as much as the golf itself. JB’s other great interests were family dinners, the NY Giants, the NY Yankees and his idol, Frank Sinatra. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Joe, knew well that he was always the life of the party with his infectious personality, natural performing quality, humor and wit. Driven by his eternal optimism and faith, Joe had an immense passion for life and the people he shared it with.

Joe is survived by his wife, Maria; son, Joseph and his wife Michelle; son, Robert and his wife Nancy; son, Christopher and his wife Christine; grandchildren, Alexa, Isabella, Olivia and Nicholas.

Echoing one of his favorite Sinatra songs, undoubtably, JB did it “His” Way!
