Joseph Anthony Baseil, 96, of Florham Park, formerly of Newark, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Joseph was a US Army Air Corps Veteran. He proudly served our country during WWII, where he was stationed out of Italy and flew over 50 missions.
He owned and operated Don’s Wine & Liquor in West Orange for many years before retiring. Then at age 70, Joseph pursued a second career for 7 additional years at the Law Firm of Post Polak Goodsell MacNeill & Strauchler P.A.
Devoted and loving husband of 64 years to the late Lillian T. Baseil (Trimarco). Devoted father of Deborah Baseil, her husband Jeffrey Kleinbaum, Maryanne Baseil, her husband Anthony Massa, Laura Baseil and her husband Peter Harrington. Cherished grandfather of Laura Kleinbaum and Michelle Kleinbaum, Ali Choi, Maria Massa, Joey Mass and Rose Massa, Anita Harrington and Asia Harrington. Dear brother of Martha Sweeny. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends who adored him and whom he adored.
A short visitation will be held at Holy Family Church in Florham Park on Saturday, March 6, from 10-10:25AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30AM. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. Attendees are reminded that masks are required and to practice social distancing.
