John B. Martin of Florham Park, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was 97 years old and living happily in his home with his wife by his side.
John was born on August 20, 1928 in Elizabeth, NJ and was raised in Staten Island, NY. In 1948, he enlisted in the US Army and served in a Military Police unit. He was among the soldiers that received the Army of Occupation Award - Germany. While he was in Europe he had an audience with Pope Pius XII and was gifted a St. Benedict Medal of Protection. A sacramental medal that he cherished and carried in his wallet until his last day. When he returned from the War, he started as a route salesman for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of NY. Through his hard work and dedication he took a high school education and a will to succeed and rose through the ranks to become SVP of Operations for the whole company. He dedicated 32 years of his life to Coca-Cola. In retirement, he remained active and engaged, working as a Finance Consultant for Telesoft and serving on the Board of the Parkinson’s Foundation.
His greatest joy, however, was his family. He treasured time spent with loved ones and took great pride in watching his children and grandchildren progress through the different stages of their lives. One of his greatest qualities was his unwavering presence and dedication to his family, always with his wife by his side.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Sherry Li, Dr. Barbara Price and Dr. Mark Blum for their extraordinary care, compassion and expertise, which contributed greatly to John's longevity and quality of life.
The funeral mass will be held at Holy Family Church in Florham Park on Friday, March 13th at 10:30am, followed by the entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. Repast to follow.
