John Dusch Obituary

John E. Dusch, of Florham Park, passed away peacefully March 4, 2022 at his home on his 86th birthday.  John was surrounded by his loving children and sweet cavalier Lily.

John was born in Brooklyn and attended Power Memorial high school in Manhattan. After graduation he enlisted in the Army and was stationed at the Pentagon. While in the Army he married his sweetheart Patricia Gregory.  After leaving the Army John began working for Western Electric and attending St John’s University at night receiving an undergraduate degree in Accounting. While working for Western Electric he was contracted to NASA for a six year assignment in Washington DC working on the Apollo project that led to Neil Armstrong walking on the moon. Upon his return to Western Electric he worked the rest of his career in Manhattan, NY and Morristown, NJ as a Financial Director.  He retired at the age of 53.

Over the years John was very active with the Knights of Columbus and various clubs and groups in Florham Park.  John was also a member of Mendham Golf and Tennis Club for many years, golfing every chance he had.  He especially loved his Tuesday/Thursday game crews.  He had the great opportunity to travel to Ireland and Scotland playing famous courses.   Other traveling included countless cruises with friends and family, including special family cruises such as his grandson's 21st birthday.  He loved Christmas time and had a special tradition for many years taking his three grandchildren into NYC to see all the decorated windows, Rockefeller Center, Tiffany's and so much more.  These are memories his grandchildren will hold close in their hearts forever.

Devoted father of Linda Simeone, her husband Chris, Jane Battis and John T. Dusch.  Cherished grandfather of Ashley, her husband Artie; Ryan, his wife Sarah; Michael and his fiancé Hollie.  Proud great-grandfather of Ava Judith, Emma Ryann and Charlotte Rose.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and his dear friend Aldona.

John was pre-deceased by his wife Patricia, his parents John & Helen and his brother Thomas.
