Joanne C. Corcoran, 78, of Convent Station, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2020. While Joanne worked many years as a Banker for Mid-Atlantic National Bank in South Orange, she had many passions outside of work that sustained her. She loved traveling to Bermuda each year, truly enjoying the laughter and wonderful times she had there with family and friends. Joanne was an avid reader. She devoured romance novels. Whether it was M.C. Beaton Hamish Macbeth mystery or a Harry Potter tale or a narrative on British Royalty she was always eager to join the journey. Those who knew her best knew of Joanne’s love and support for what she called “the NJ Jets”. She would regret having not lived to see her team “finally” win another Superbowl. But above all else Joanne loved her family most. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Joanne often said, “when the lord calls me home it will not come a minute too soon”. Comfort can be taken by those who loved her in knowing she is reunited with her husband, Martin, whom she has missed all these many years. As a proud Catholic and woman of deep faith, she took great comfort in the kindness of others and a peace she found in her nightly prayers with the blessed mother. Joanne is not gone but rather has gone on. We will see her again.
Joanne is survived by her children Chris Corcoran, David Corcoran, his wife Ellen, Donna Tallia and her husband Ed. A loving grandmother to Hannah, Margaret, John, Katie and Kevin. Dear sister of Eugene Altieri and Ann Scallia. She is pre-deceased by her husband Martin T. Corcoran and her parents Albert & Marie Altieri.
Funeral services held privately.
