Janice Eckert

Janice Eckert, 69, of Florham Park, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026. 

Janice A. Eckert, 69, passed away on April 9, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Janice cherished the company of her many friends and her family. She loved decorating her home and hosting parties for the holidays, especially Christmas. While raising their family with her husband Pete, Janice worked for many years in computer equipment sales and customer service management. 

Beloved wife of 48 years to Peter Eckert. Devoted mother of Daniel Eckert and his partner Brittani, Joseph Eckert and his fiancé Aida, and Steven Eckert and his wife Shirley. Loving sister of the Reverend Kenneth Sherman. Loving grandmother of Nathan, Madelyn, and Julian. She is also survived by many loving cousins and friends. Janice was pre-deceased by her son Michael and parents Norman and Alfreda Sherman. 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Janice’s favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Wednesday, April 15th from 4-7pm.  Funeral on Thursday, April 16th, assembling at the funeral home at 9am, followed by the funeral mass at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover at 10am.  Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
