James K. Walsh, Jr. (Jim), 66, of Florham Park, passed away peacefully at his home on September 13, 2023 embraced by his devoted wife and daughter, and surrounded by his friends and family. He is survived by one brother and six sisters, as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his parents, and his youngest sister and brother.
Jim was born and raised in Jersey City and had a reputation of being hardworking and dependable. Early on his body of work was diversified and included the supermarket industry, auto mechanic as well as general construction. In 1985 he started his own parking lot maintenance company, Walsh Striping, Inc. which still exists today. Several years later he expanded his portfolio and began investing in real estate.
Cherished husband of more than 35 years to his sweetheart Phyllis. And proud and loving father of Ginamarie. Jim enjoyed building and maintaining his koi pond, as well as watching a good crime drama on TV. He was an accomplished expert lego builder having built sets such as the Taj Mahal, the London Bridge and a Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Sunday from 1:00-4:00 PM. Funeral on Monday, assembling at the funeral home at 9:00 AM, followed by the funeral mass at Holy Family Church in Florham Park at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
