James (Jim) George Manias Jr, 73, of Florham Park, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on August 14, 2021.
Beloved husband of 48 years to Mary Jane Manias. Devoted father of James Manias, his wife Jeannina, Jason Manias, his wife Jennifer, Gregg Manias and his wife Lisa. Cherished grandfather of Samantha and Reagan, Alexander and Lucian, and Demetrios. Also survived by a loving sister and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
An accomplished sales professional with a career that spanned almost 50 years, Jim began his career at Burroughs Corporation as a Sales Manager. He then moved to Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC), a Fortune 100 Company, were he led their Financial Services business and was a thought-leader who delivered speeches globally. He finished his career as Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Advanced Systems Concepts, Inc. (ASCI) a leader in the Workload Automation industry.
In addition to his professional pursuits, he volunteered his time as a youth sports coach in baseball & hockey. Jim spent 10 years running and developing the New Jersey Colonials Youth Hockey as president of the organization and serving in various positions within the New Jersey Youth Hockey League as well as USA Hockey for the Atlantic District.
Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, 210 Ridgedale Ave, Florham Park, NJ on Tuesday from 4-7p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, 10am at Ss. Nicholas, Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Roseland, followed by the entombment at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum in East Hanover.
